The potitics of fear

It really doesn't surprise me that when one side in an argument has very little to back up it's argument that they would decide to use fear as a weapon to bring down the opposition. What often times does surprise me is how willing some people are to believe what they must know somewhere deep down inside is not true. They are so dedicated to their side that even admiting to themselves that they made the wrong chose is unbearible.
